Cycling Books

Here you can read about all the books I have personally found interesting, thought-provoking, informative and simply a pleasure to read.

As Christmas approaches it would be prudent to start the pedals turning with my own '12-days-of' list. In no particular order - a futile endeavour anyway - with a few more books sneaked in here and there -

Christmas 2013 - if you have been a good boy or girl I suggest you write to Santa asking for one or more of the these:

1. 'Need for the Bike', and 'Velo', by Paul Fournel, 2003

2. 'The Rider,' Tim Krabbe, 2002

3. 'The Escape Artist,' Matt Seaton, 2002

4. 'Bicycling Science', 3rd Ed. D. G. Wilson, et al, 2004

5. 'French Revolutions', Tim Moore, 2003

6. 'Tales from the Bike Shop', and 'Half Wheel Hell & Other Cycling Stories', Maynard Hershon, 1990 & 1994 respectively

7. 'How I won the Yellow Jumper: Dispatches from the Tour de France', and 'How Cav won the Green Jersey: short dispatches from the 2011 Tour de France', Ned Boulting. 2011 & 2012 respectively.

8. The Secret Race: Inside the Hidden World of the Tour de France: Doping, Cover ups, and Winning at All Costs', Tyler Hamilton, 2012

9. 'Mud, Sweat & Gears: cycling from Land's End to John o'Groats (via the pub)', Ellie Bennett, 2012

10. 'Racing through the Dark', David Millar, 2011

11. Slaying the Badger: LeMond, Hinault and the Greatest Ever Tour de France', Richard Moore, 2011

12. 'Tomorrow we Ride', Jean Bobet,

Hope this gives you some ideas, it is by no means definitive and I have omitted many excellent tomes. What you have above are some books that I enjoyed - for a variety of reasons.
